At this workshop, you will get to know a developing checklist for inclusive communication. It is being created as part of the Museums Without Barriers project, based on research conducted with visitors with dyslexia and other learning difficulties.
We will show the key findings from the research. We will look at working with text, typography, wayfinding, light, and multimedia. These insights will then be translated into a practical tool that can help museums, galleries, and designers.
This will not just be a presentation of a finished material. You will also try the checklist in practice together with others. You will help identify weak points and enrich it with your own experience.
The workshop is intended for people working in culture, designers, students, and anyone who wants to create communication that is clear and accessible for a wide range of visitors.

Workshop InstructorHow do I get to the gallery?
Public transport: By far the closest stop is Školní, with Náměstí Míru as another nearby option.
By car: You can park on Hradská Street or in the car park beneath the Congress Centre. Both options are paid. Parking in Zlín can generally be difficult, so if possible, we recommend coming on foot instead.
The gallery is located on the ground floor of the Faculty of Humanities, but no worries, everyone is welcome. Once you enter through the main entrance, turn right and follow the signs to the gallery. Both the entrance and the toilets in the building are barrier free.
If you have any specific access needs and or are unsure whether the programme is suitable for you, please do not hesitate to contact us by email at anna.svobodova@zlindesignweek.com or by phone or SMS at +420 733 144 711.
Our goal is to make the festival accessible to as many people as possible. We will be very happy to advise you and help find alternative options.
