Flash Talks, powered by PechaKucha at Zlin Design Week, features a selection of designers, creatives, architects, artists, and other figures from the creative and cultural scenes. A total of 10 speakers will take the stage during the evening.

And since we want to offer you something new, this year’s event will kick off with a 30-minute keynote by Sara Polak. Festival curator Natálie Vencovská will guide you through the entire program, and following the keynote, the evening will continue with a series of short presentations in the classic PechaKucha 20×20 format.

So what exactly is PechaKucha like? Each speaker has 20 images and can speak for only 20 seconds per image – so the entire presentation lasts just 6 minutes and 40 seconds.

The event was launched in Tokyo in February 2003 and is now held in more than 1,400 cities around the world.

Who will open this year’s keynote?

How do I get to the theatre?

Public transport: The nearest stop is Zlín, Prostřední, right by the theatre. Another nearby stop, Zlín, Morýsovy domy, is about a four minute walk away.
By car: There is a small paid car park next to the theatre. Parking in Zlín can generally be difficult, so if possible, we recommend coming on foot instead.

The theatre has a barrier free entrance and accessible toilets.
There is no induction loop or sign language interpretation available, and the entire programme takes place in Czech.

If you have any specific access needs and or are unsure whether the programme is suitable for you, please do not hesitate to contact us by email at anna.svobodova@zlindesignweek.com or by phone or SMS at +420 733 144 711.

Our goal is to make the festival accessible to as many people as possible. We will be very happy to advise you and help find alternative options.

This year we’ll meet in the theatre. But what did it look like last year?
