What new feature have we prepared for you this year?

As part of the opening ceremony of the 12th annual Zlin Design Week festival, a performative fashion show will take place, organized in collaboration with the Slovak Fashion Council and the LUMó (Laboratory of Sustainable Fashion) project, which is being developed in the context of Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture. The fashion performance will guide you through the main exhibition, All You Need Is Design, to the castle courtyard, where the program will seamlessly transition into a DJ set.

LUMó is an original project of the Slovak Fashion Council and part of the Trenčín 2026 – European Capital of Culture program in the field of fashion and sustainable design. Through performances, discussions, workshops, and work with public spaces, it connects local textile heritage with contemporary design and current environmental issues.

The choreography will be handled by VERA together with dancers from Actiwity DC. The event will showcase the work of three designers connected to Trenčín and the LUMó project line, which has long explored themes of fashion, sustainability, movement, and contemporary cultural identity.

The aim is to connect design, space, and the viewer so that fashion is not just a spectacle, but a living experience. The collections are functional, wearable, and respond to the body and the environment, emphasizing comfort, naturalness, and the feeling of being yourself. The performance thus blurs the line between fashion and experience and creates an open, human moment.
