The exhibition Best of ’26: Made with Passion presents unique design works that reached the top spots in the 17th annual Best in Design international competition in 2026. From May 7 to 22, 2026, the gallery becomes a platform that opens up space for new beginnings, learning without fear of mistakes, and supports the path of experimentation or personal motivation to create.
How is good design created?
Design is not a one-time idea, but a creative process. It is created through trial, error and repetition. Designers and craftsmen often start without a clear plan or prior preparation and learn directly while creating. This process needs a safe and open space for experimentation, where it is possible to learn without fear of failure and to seek a personal form of expression.
Passion and a relationship with creation play an important role in this process. It is this that encourages us to continue even when something goes wrong, and to gradually transform failure into a prototype and then into a finished object.
The exhibition presents design as a path of growth and learning. It does not focus only on the final form of the works, but on the process that led to them and the personal value that the authors create with their work in the process. It shows design as a human and open process, in which experimentation and work with time and personal aesthetics have their place.

How do I get to the exhibition?
Public transport: By far the closest stop is Školní, with Náměstí Míru as another nearby option.
By car: You can park on Hradská Street or in the car park beneath the Congress Centre. Both options are paid. Parking in Zlín can generally be difficult, so if possible, we recommend coming on foot instead.
The gallery is located on the ground floor of the Faculty of Humanities, but don’t worry, everyone is welcome. Once you enter through the main entrance, turn right and follow the signs to the gallery. Both the entrance and the toilets in the building are barrier free.
What is the gallery like?
The exhibition includes video projections as well as physical exhibits, some of which you will be able to touch. There is also space for prams and wheelchairs.
