Workshops and creative seminars

Zlin Design Week also has a rich educational and creative accompanying programme for both the professional and general public. You can look forward to closed professional workshops following the theme of inclusive design and participatory design. For the general public, children, adults, and the elderly, there are creative workshops and open workshops from which you can take away, for example, your own hat or ceramic mug for your favourite coffee. Creative workshops and public workshops are realized in cooperation with our partners, local studios, and a platform dedicated to the education of children – Designéři dětem (From Designers to Children).

Workshops within the Universal Design project

Two half-day workshops on accessible tourism and libraries will be held as part of the Universal Design project, which is supported by EEA Grants. The workshops are designed to follow issues directly linked to a specific selection of workshop participants. Further workshops pursuing inclusive design will take place as part of the ZDW International Conference.

Accessible Tourism

Who will lead it: Tereza Kosnarová Venerová

The workshop opens the topic of accessible tourism and participatory cooperation, the possibilities of how to design routes, experiences, or services to serve the widest possible group of tourists and visitors. Under the guidance of the lecturer Tereza Kosnarova Venerová, participants will go through the basic terms related to the topic, focus on who is left out when designing spaces and services, map a specific route/service, and show that sometimes it is not necessarily about removing the barrier itself, but about finding other, accessible ways. The workshop is realized in cooperation with the City of Zlín and the Zlínsko-Luhačovicko organization.
