Prof. PhDr. Zdeno Kolesár, Ph.D. (1960) works at the Department of Theory and History of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava and the Cabinet of Theoretical Studies, Faculty of Multimedia Communications, Tomas Bata University in Zlín. He focuses mainly on the history of design. He has published 2 Czech and 2 Slovak editions of Chapters from the History of Design (Bratislava and Prague 1998-2009), Chapters from the History of Graphic Design (Bratislava 2006), Historia projektowania graficznego (co-author Jacek Mrowczyk, Krakow 2018), is the editor of Publications on History of Design at Slovakia (2013), Art design. František Burian and students (2017) and Tibor Uhrín. The form makes the function more pleasant (Košice 2019). He publishes in domestic and foreign professional periodicals. In 1983 he received the Dean's Award of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Bratislava and in 2011 the Special Award of the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic - National Design Award.
